The Opportunity

As a Commercial Insurance Agent at The Agent’s Office®, you operate as a B2B risk consultant — not a telemarketer reading scripts. You work directly with business owners, contractors, fleet operators, and manufacturers across Texas to protect their operations, their people, and their revenue.

We are an independent agency with access to 75+ personal and commercial carriers. That means you never have to force-fit a client into one company’s product. You design coverage programs using the full market — general liability, commercial property, workers’ compensation, commercial auto, inland marine, cyber liability, builders risk, and more.

Your base salary keeps the lights on while you build. Your commissions reward the work. And our weekly performance bonuses — up to $250 per week — pay you for the daily habits that compound into a career: prospecting calls, quotes generated, referrals earned, and policies sold. Starting in your second year, you also earn quarterly retention bonuses based on the business you’ve written and retained — so the better the business you write, the more you earn long after the ink dries.

Your Mission

  • Prospect & Acquire: Build pipeline through outbound calls, referral partnerships, and community networking. This is a hunter role — we reward agents who create their own opportunities.
  • Consult & Analyze: Review complex commercial exposures — fleet operations, construction jobsite risk, cyber threats, product liability — and present coverage gap analyses that protect the client’s livelihood.
  • Design & Place: Structure competitive programs using top-tier carriers including Travelers, Liberty Mutual, Progressive Commercial, Chubb, and specialty markets. Win on value, not just price.
  • Deepen & Retain: Cross-sell personal lines and life insurance to business owners. Commercial accounts that trust you with their business coverage will trust you with their family’s protection — and every policy deepens the relationship.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Licensed: Active Texas Property & Casualty license is required.
  • Experienced: 2+ years of B2B sales or commercial insurance experience preferred. You know how to get in front of decision-makers and earn their business.
  • Technically Sharp: You can explain claims-made vs. occurrence, additional insured vs. named insured, and why an installation floater matters on a construction project — without losing the client.
  • Long-Game Mindset: Commercial insurance is a relationship business with compounding returns. You are building a production record that pays you for years, not chasing one-time transactions.
