A PRACTICAL SECOND LOOK
Understand your business insurance renewal before deciding.
A higher premium deserves context. A lower premium still deserves a coverage check. This complimentary tool from The Agent’s Office® helps Texas business owners organize what changed, compare eligible renewal changes with dated national market references, and prepare questions for an individual review.
Use it when a renewal premium rises or falls, when limits or deductibles change, when a contract raises insurance questions, or when you want to prepare before an offer arrives. A quote request is available if you want the agency to explore options.
One review, across your coverage.
The questionnaire supports commercial property, business owner’s policies (BOP), general liability, commercial auto, umbrella or excess, workers’ compensation, cyber and professional liability. Not every line has a comparable premium benchmark; the tool explains when a numeric comparison is unavailable.
Texas businesses can request help regardless of annual premium. Businesses outside Texas require service-area confirmation. The assessment does not make an underwriting decision or identify a guaranteed savings opportunity.

BUILT FOR A MORE INFORMED DECISION
A signal you can understand.
Your circumstances matter more than a market headline. We explain what the check can establish—and what needs an individual review.
What does the Renewal Leverage Score mean?
It is a rule-based review-priority indicator from The Agent’s Office®, not a validated prediction, credit score, underwriting decision, savings estimate or probability of receiving a quote. A numeric score appears only when at least one selected line has a reported renewal change, confirmed comparable exposures and terms, and a usable premium benchmark.
Points: renewal premium difference, up to 60; an expressed coverage, contract or nonrenewal concern, 25; coordination across policies, up to 15. Above-reference differences of 2, 5 and 10 percentage points contribute 20, 40 and 60 points respectively; only the largest difference contributes. Two or three selected lines add 7 coordination points; four or more add 15. These are disclosed agency review rules, not statistically proven cutoffs. Changes or uncertainty in exposures or terms pause the numeric score. Timing and information completeness appear separately.
A low score does not establish adequate coverage or a competitive premium. Claims, total premium, and “no” answers about cyber or flood do not automatically increase the score or exclude you from help.
Where does the market information come from?
Premium-change reference: Ivans Index, August 2026, published 2026-09-09. Year-over-year renewal premium change for a single consistent policy across the U.S. agency/carrier dataset. Not an individual price target. Read the Ivans source report.
Qualitative market context: U.S. Global Insurance Market Index, Q3 2026, published 2026-10-21. Rate movements reflect Marsh's client portfolio; separate from Ivans premium movements. Used for qualitative context only. Read the Marsh source report.
U.S. commercial market context; not a Texas rate filing or an individual quote. Periods and datasets differ. We do not subtract a large-account rate index from a small-business premium increase to estimate savings.
Reference values and context are manually reviewed. Numeric comparisons pause after the review deadline or source expiry. Data version: 2026-10-25.1. Review due: 2026-11-28.
Is this a quote or a policy review?
This is a preparation tool. A licensed professional must review the actual policy, endorsements, business details and available options. Carrier availability, terms and pricing depend on underwriting. No policy changes occur by using this tool.
What happens to my documents?
Only files you choose are submitted, when you send your request. Requests and documents are encrypted in private website storage. Access requires an agency administrator login. Your policy is not added to a public media library, emailed as an attachment or automatically analyzed by an AI service. The agency retains records under its record-retention process; contact us about access or removal requests.
BEFORE YOU START
Business insurance renewal questions, answered.
What does this Texas business insurance renewal checker do?
The Renewal Leverage Checker™ from The Agent’s Office® is a complimentary preparation tool for Texas business owners. It organizes renewal changes, coverage questions and timing into an explained action plan. It does not provide an insurance quote, determine coverage, bind a policy or predict savings. A numeric review-priority score requires comparable renewal information and a usable market reference.
Can I enter a premium increase or decrease in dollars?
Yes. Choose percentage change or dollar change for each policy. Positive numbers mean the premium went up; negative numbers mean it went down. For a dollar change, also enter the previous annual premium. The calculation is dollar change divided by previous annual premium, multiplied by 100. Hypothetical examples: a $500 increase on $5,000 is +10%; a $500 decrease on $5,000 is −10%. Use comparable annual amounts and the same treatment of taxes and fees.
Can I use the tool before my renewal offer arrives?
Yes. Choose the preparation option to get an action plan without a renewal offer. Missing figures are left unknown, not treated as zero. A numeric score waits until sufficient comparable information is available. You may request a policy review at any stage, with no minimum annual premium.
Do I need to upload my insurance policy or give contact details?
No contact details or documents are needed to see an assessment. If you request a review or quote, contact details are required and policy documents are optional. Current declarations, the policy and endorsements, and a renewal proposal can help the agency prepare. Submitted documents are encrypted in private website storage and require an agency administrator login to download. They are not publicly published, attached to email alerts or automatically analyzed by an AI service.
