Insurance for life and work in The Colony
Stewart Creek and the lake
The city describes Stewart Creek Park on the eastern shore of Lake Lewisville, with a boat ramp and other recreation. Lake access is a reason to review the actual boat, trailer and storage arrangements; it does not mean every nearby property is in a flood zone. Ask about flood insurance for the specific address and water-backup coverage separately.
Grandscape and business contracts
The city’s comprehensive plan identifies the Grandscape area as a regional destination near SH 121. A retailer, restaurant or service business should bring its lease and vendor agreements and discuss premises liability, inventory, equipment, business income and employee-related needs. A certificate summarizes coverage; the policy and endorsements govern.
Sam Rayburn Tollway and vehicle use
For household vehicles and commercial fleets, list the people who drive, where vehicles are kept and their actual use. Personal auto coverage may not address every delivery or commercial use. Ask about liability limits, comprehensive hail coverage and deductibles.
Established homes and roof settlement
For a home purchase or renewal, review the dwelling limit, roof age and material, wind/hail deductible and whether the insurer applies a roof payment schedule. A percentage deductible uses the policy’s stated basis, so request a dollar example.
Renters, landlords and property owners
Residents renting an apartment or house can discuss personal property, liability and additional living expense coverage. Landlords should describe the property’s occupancy, rental arrangement, lease and any vacancy; a tenant’s renters policy does not insure the owner’s building.
What to have handy
For a home or closing, gather the property address, build and roof details, coverage date and lender requirements. For auto, have driver and vehicle information. For a business or rental, bring a description of operations or occupancy, vehicles and insurance requirements in your lease or contract. Share renewal or closing deadlines when you contact us.
The Colony insurance questions, answered
Does a policy automatically cover a boat at Stewart Creek?
Do not assume it does. Ask about a separate watercraft policy, liability, trailer, storage and the waters where you operate.
Can a Grandscape-area business request general liability?
Yes. Share what the business does, its location and lease or contract requirements. We can review available general liability and other commercial options.
Does liability-only auto insurance pay for hail damage to my car?
Liability typically covers damage or injury you cause to others. Comprehensive coverage may cover hail damage to your own vehicle, subject to policy terms and the deductible.
How much does insurance cost here?
There is no single price for every household or business. Insurers consider the applicant, property, coverage and deductible, among other factors. We can request available options using your details.
Can I request home, auto and business insurance together?
Yes. Tell us what you want to discuss in one request. We’ll follow up for the details needed by available carriers.
Can coverage start the same day?
Same-day coverage may be available depending on the carrier, underwriting, documentation and payment. Coverage begins only when confirmed by the insurer or authorized agent.
